Legal evaluation of a trading scheme intended to be used by a Russian logistics company when buying coal in Kazakhstan and then transporting and selling it in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Legal analysis for purchase of coal in these countries, advising the client on:

• customs clearance options for purchase of coal and its subsequent export to the specified states;

• requirements of the currency laws applicable when making payments for coal to Kazakhstan and when receiving payments from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, considering that purchased coal is not imported into Russia;

• possible tax implications inherent in such foreign economic activity

Preparation of recommendations concerning the organizational structure for such transactions (opening of branches/representative offices, hiring of locals, etc.); clarification of other legislative requirements to be considered by the company in its foreign economy activity.
