Alexander Grigoriev is Project Manager in tax litigation, and in particular successfully represents clients at tax authorities and arbitration courts. He also provides consulting services on the tax specifics of various industries.
Alexander has more than twelve years of practical experience and in the course of his professional career has mastered the technical aspects of mining and extracting mineral and other natural resources and has thoroughly studied the specifics of taxation in the energy industry. He is systematically continuing his self-education in this area.
Prior to joining FBK Legal in 2006, Alexander was a senior lawyer at a number of commercial organizations, as well as the chief expert of the legal division at a regional tax office.
Alexander is named among best tax litigators in Russia by the International Tax review Magazine 2015 (Tax Controversy Leaders).
Alexander Grigoriev participates in various conferences and seminars, including on harmonizing industry terminology in the oil and gas industry. Alexander has published articles in professional and print business publications.
Alexander Grigoriev's completed projects include:
- successfully challenging claims of more than 1 billion rubles made against the gas producing companies of the Gazprom Group in connection with the construction and liquidation of exploration wells;
- legally representing a major engineering company in a tax dispute involving an additional assessment of 140 million rubles in taxes and tax penalties;
- successfully representing a major fast food caterer in court;
- a court challenge of a judgment on the results of a tax inspection at a pharmaceutical manufacturer owned by the Sanofi group, including the taxation of unclaimed goods.
