FBK Legal at MGIMO Law Championship 2020

FBK Legal has participated in the MGIMO Law Championship 2020 as the author of cases and the head of the jury in the corporate law category. The championship has become the first Russian intellectual competition for law students with a big cash prize.

Elena Shigidina, the Head of Practice at FBK Legal, was impressed by excellent organisation and dedication of all participants.

“The semi-final and the final were challenging. Teams were solving cases, which were based on real-life projects managed by our firm. It was not easy, which made it extremely interesting for us to listen to solutions developed by teams by brainstorming during the competition. I think that the MGIMO Law Championship is an excellent start to such kind of case championships. And we will be glad to help in organising new ones,” she said.

The remote stage of the championship took place in December 2020 and brought together 377 teams from over 30 universities of Russia and other CIS countries. Five teams from three Russian cities — Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk ? qualified to the next stage in each of five categories (international, criminal, corporate, intellectual and tax law).?

The MGIMO Law Championship gives students an opportunity to turn their knowledge into action. Solving cases from top law firms is a great way to raise legal awareness and obtain invaluable experience, which will help participants to find jobs and start making careers.
