At the eighth All-Russian competition on constitutional justice “Crystal Goddess of Justice” arranged by the Institute for Law and Public Policy, FBK Legal’s Partner Alexander Ermolenko and Professor of Public Law of Humboldt University of Berlin Alexander Blankenagel have presented an award to the team of Ural State Law University in the category “For Excellent Knowledge and the Ability to Apply Judgements of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation”.
This year sixteen teams from Russian universities have taken part in the competition supported by FBK Legal. The team from Lomonosov Moscow State University proved to be the best and received the main Crystal Goddess Award. Six special awards were also presented at the award ceremony.
Alexander Ermolenko says that this year the competition has been dedicated to the basics of the penal policy. “By analysing constitutional and international legal standards, legal precedents and various approaches used in different countries, the teams have assessed the terms and procedure for imposing disciplinary penalties in Russian places of detention. But the main criteria included non-discriminatory treatment, respect for private life, observance of the right of defence and the right to act in accordance with religious beliefs,” FBK Legal Partner said.
