Legal subtleties of Russia-China investments. FBK Legal partner at the Eurasian Legal Congress

Alexander Ermolenko, a FBK Legal partner, contributed to the session “Russia-China investments. Subtle aspects of symbiotic cooperation” held as part of the Eurasian Legal Congress in Yekaterinburg.

“This section participants focused on the issues of legal support of bilateral Russia-China investments. Being a member of the Board of Russia-China Law Society, I’m well aware of the range of issues raised during the session. Hope, suggestions and proposals brought forward during the discussions will facilitate further development of Russia-China economic partnership,” noted Alexander Ermolenko.

Other topics discussed at the session include such pressing issues as investment climate improvement and specifics of operation in Russian and Chinese jurisdictions, investment protection, tax issues, judicial and enforcement practices, including, enforcement of court awards on commercial disputes in Russia and China. Lawyers also discussed the importance of confidence-building measures and improvement legal education in both states.

Eurasian Legal Congress is an international long-established platform which brings together politicians, government authorities, business players, public officials and professional lawyers for discussing issues of common interest. The Congress also attracts representatives from member states of the Eurasian Economic Community and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
