FBK Legal’s Managing Partner Nadezhda Orlova and Partner Alexander Ermolenko have participated in the Far East Legal Forum held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
On the first day of the forum, Alexander Ermolenko spoke at two panel discussions. The first one was dedicated to the accessibility and quality of the course of justice. It addressed technological novelties, the standards and problems of proof, the role of Arbitrazh and the reimbursement for litigation costs. The second one was titled “Corporate Instruments for Investor’s Rights Protection While Implementing Projects” and focused on the protection from corporate abuse, the impact of due diligence on the transaction price, a corporate agreement as a management tool and risks associated with sales of controlling interests.
Nadezhda Orlova moderated a panel discussion titled “Key Considerations for Tax Risks Control in Business Activity in 2021–2022”, which was held on the second day of the forum. The discussion concerned the digitalisation of tax administration, tax reconstruction, the authentication of the ultimate beneficial owner, bankruptcy cases and safeguards against inappropriate claims of tax authorities.
