Head of FBK Legal Corporate practice, Alexander Ermolenko commented upon "the third package of antitrust amendments"

06 June 2011
Alexander Ermolenko, Head of FBK Legal Corporate practice commented upon «the third package of antitrust amendments» on air of RBK TV. According to the expert, the principal deficiency of regulating competition in Russia is that Federal Antimonopoly Service obtains more and more serious leverages to influence companies, while procedure for applying them is often not spelled out. Another problem is that our economy is becoming more and more of a state economy, hence it gets more and more monopolized. At the same time, Alexander added, an oposite trend exists – strengthening antimonopoly authority which is to control business. «These two trends are opposites. It is impossible to increase monopolization and to fight monopolies at the same time», the lawyer summed up.
