Head of FBK Legal tax practice took part in the Financial University panel discussion on fiscal policy
Within the framework of the tax policy panel discussion organized by the Financial University under the RF Government, Alexei Yakovlev, head of the FBK Legal tax litigation practice made the report of “Adequacy of objectives declared and actual steps made in taxation”. He examined in detail the latest innovations and initiatives in the field of taxation.
In particular, Alexei Yakovlev dwelt on the matters beyond the range of wide public discussion which, though, have a significant impact on taxpayers and reflect the government tax policy. “Changes in the pre-trial settlement procedure have actually led to the decline of the epoch of taxpayers victories in their disputes with taxmen. And the modifications of Tax Code Article 77, in fact, brought back to life such a securing measure as taxpayers’ sequestration”, noted the head of FBK Legal tax litigation practice.
Besides, the speaker also dwelt on the recent proposals to recover the practice for the Investigating Committee to independently initiate criminal proceedings on tax corpus delicti and on the planed amendments to the tax and civil codes. It looks like “firefighting measures”. Tax policy should be well-thought-out, circumspect, professional, and the RF Ministry of Finance should remain to be the single tax policy center”, believes Alexei Yakovlev.
In the panel discussion took part the representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Federal Tax Service, the lecturers and post-graduate students of the Financial University, and specialists in taxation.
