FBK Legal' Lawyers Teach Course on Intellectual Property Rights
Alena Ermolenko and Darya Tereshchenko, IP lawyers at FBK Legal, have taught an original course on IPR protection and settlement of IPR disputes.
In early 2021 the CEELI Institute launched a new twelve-week intellectual property course for Russian lawyers. The course had three core modules, one of them being developed and taught by Head of Practice Alena Ermolenko and Senior Lawyer Darya Tereshchenko.
They focused on IPR disputes, infringement and enforcement. The aim of their module was to equip practitioners with knowledge to advise clients on appropriate strategies and options when a client’s IP has been infringed or when a client is accused of infringing on someone else?s IP. Together with international experts, FBK Legal?s lawyers discussed how to apply the law and accepted techniques to protect, exploit, and enforce IPR in business.
The other two modules were dedicated to introduction to the international IPR context, IPR management and protection. They were presented by lawyers from the United States and Ireland.
Each module ended with a panel discussion attended by representatives of all faculties (the United States, Ireland and Russia). The course concluded with a mock trial. FBK Legal?s lawyers acted as judges together with Dave Flanagan, a former US judge.
